Individual
Individual therapy for adults, by video anywhere in Ohio
Individual therapy at Rising Rose Relational Therapy is relational work for one adult. You meet with Anjelica M. Nelson, M.Ed, LPCC-S, IMFT-S, by secure video from anywhere in Ohio. The focus is the relational life of one person: your attachments, the people who live in your head, and the patterns you keep taking home. The person you meet on the fit call is the therapist you will work with.
Who it helps
Individual therapy is for adults 18 and up. It may fit if you:
- keep running into the same pattern with partners, family, friends, or coworkers;
- want to work on your side of a relationship when a partner isn't ready for couples therapy;
- are going through a change in your relationships, such as a breakup, a divorce, a new relationship, or becoming a parent;
- want an LGBTQ-affirming therapist. Everyone is welcome.
What sessions look like
The work follows the same structured process as everything at Rising Rose: an assessment, a map, and skills you can use.
Assessment: what is happening, what the pattern is, and what you want to change. A map: of the relationships you carry and the role you play in them. Skills: language and tools that leave the room with you, not another hour of venting.
Sessions are 50 or 80 minutes, by secure video through SimplePractice.
How starting works
- Free 15-minute fit call. Request a time. You describe what's happening, and Anjelica tells you honestly whether she thinks she can help.
- Intake paperwork. If there's a fit, you receive informed consent, telehealth consent, and a Good Faith Estimate. A card is stored before session one.
- First session. By secure video from a private room anywhere in Ohio.
- Ongoing sessions. 50 or 80 minutes, focused on skills you can use between sessions.
Fees and private pay
Individual sessions are $160 for 50 minutes or $190 for 80 minutes. The 15-minute fit call is free.
Rising Rose is private pay and doesn't bill insurance, so no diagnosis is sent to an insurer. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and a superbill is available on request if you want to seek out-of-network reimbursement. Every client receives a Good Faith Estimate before the first session. Full details are on the fees page.

What this is not
This practice is not a crisis service. If you or someone else is in danger, call or text 988, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
Frequently asked questions
How is individual therapy different from couples therapy?
Couples therapy works with the relationship in the room. Individual therapy works with one person and the relationships they carry: partners, family, and the patterns that repeat across them.
Can my partner join later?
Talk about it on the fit call. Anjelica will explain what makes sense for your situation.
Do you take insurance?
No. Rising Rose is private pay. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and you can request a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on your plan.
Is online therapy private?
Sessions use SimplePractice video from a private room you choose. Please keep health details out of the contact form and save them for the fit call or intake paperwork.
What do I need for a session?
A private room, a laptop or tablet with a camera (a phone works in a pinch), headphones if others are home, and a steady internet connection.
What if I travel out of Ohio?
You need to be physically in Ohio for each session. If you'll be out of state, reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice.
